About the Department

The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) regulates vocational education and training (VET) in Australia, ensuring quality and confidence in the sector. Supporting over 4 million students annually, ASQA applies a risk-based approach to regulation, partnering with stakeholders to uphold standards. It oversees VET providers, English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS), and national training standards.

Key Duties

·      actively monitor VET providers that are exhibiting financial risks

·      undertake risk assessments of VET providers in accordance with the Financial Viability Risk Assessment Requirements Instrument 2021

·      prepare financial analysis reports that provide well-reasoned advice on VET providers exhibiting financial risks, ensuring analyses identifies recommendations and next steps

·      contribute to initiatives that support VET providers to identify and implement strategies to improve their financial performance

·      contribute to process improvements, including inputting to revisions to ASQA’s approach to the assessment of VET provider financial viability and conduct – and preparing work instructions and standard operating procedures...
