Section Manager Advisory

About the opportunity

The Section Manager Advisory will lead a team of approximately 4 lawyers and 2 professional support staff, who are responsible for providing advice in relation to:

·      public law, especially statutory interpretation matters involving aviation legislation;

·      commercial law, especially in relation to procurement; and

·      information law, especially compliance with freedom of information and privacy-related obligations.

The Section Manager Advisory will report to and work closely with the National Manager Legal Services and will engage across all business areas in CASA, with a view to ensuring existing and potential legal risks are identified and effectively addressed. The Section Manager will be the focal point for the implementation and coordination of advisory legal services.

The preferred location for the role is Canberra. Brisbane and Sydney are equal second preference and Melbourne is third. Other CASA Office locations will only be considered if suitable candidates cannot be found in more preferred locations. The aim is to find...
