Your role

Helicopters are critical to Army operations and it takes a lot more than a pilot to fly them. Whether it's aerial reconnaissance, troop mobility, casualty evacuation or firepower support, every helicopter mission relies on the skills of the Aviation Groundcrew team back at base.

Your duties include, but aren’t limited to:

·       Preparing landing grounds and maintaining landing aid equipment

·       Marshalling, moving and securing aircraft

·       Preparing, loading and unloading supplies, equipment and ammunition

·       Managing and attaching external loads

·       Operating and maintaining towing equipment and other specialist vehicles

·       Refuelling aircraft when shut down (‘cold’) and running (‘hot’)

You'll also be trained in ground navigation, line communications with pilots, camouflage erection for temporary hangars, firefighting and first aid.

You will enjoy benefits including, but not limited to:

·       Free medical and dental, including access to allied health, rehabilitation, and mental health specialists

·       Competitive salary package with incremental salary increases as you gain experience

·       Generous Superannuation of 16.4% - a huge 5.4% over the Australian standard
