About the Department


The Office of the Communications Access Coordinator (OCAC) within AGD’s High Tech Crime Branch (HTCB) is the regulator for the Commonwealth electronic surveillance framework. OCAC works closely with industry partners, Commonwealth, state and territory law enforcement agencies, and the National Intelligence Community, to oversee telecommunications carriers’ assistance to law enforcement and national security agencies when exercising covert electronic surveillance powers.


About the Role

The successful candidate will undertake a technical assessment of applications from telecommunications carriers and carriage service providers who are seeking DREVs, having regard to the legislative criteria for exemptions. They will also assist in providing technical guidance and training to build the future capacity of the team. Project management and administrative decision-making will be undertaken by existing AGD staff.
