Queensland Audit Office
About Company
Our vision is for better public services for Queenslanders. Our purpose is independent, valued assurance and insights.
Our clients are the state and local government public sector entities we audit and the Queensland Parliament. We also work with many other stakeholders such as industry bodies, accounting standards boards and academia.
The Auditor-General is fully independent, appointed by the Queensland Governor in Council for a 7-year term. Our work is governed by the Auditor-General Act 2009, and guided by auditing and accounting standards.
Each year through our financial audit program, we form opinions about the reliability of public sector entity and local government financial statements. Our opinions are published in entity annual reports. We prepare reports based on the results of our financial audits for tabling in parliament.
